Yvonne Iten-Scott – Textile Artist
Erin, Ontario CAN
Yvonne credits her Swiss father with instilling the value of handcrafted items. Raised on a cattle farm surrounded by antiques, handmade quilts – her love of homesteading and heritage craft has grown into a passion for textile art and a recent return to a rural lifestyle on Willow Pond Homestead in Erin, Ontario.
The “farm” is a luxurious haven to chickens, guineas, quail, bee-keeping, veggies and flowers. An expansive art studio space is where Yvonne plans to host creative workshops and host fibre retreats. A voracious traveller and lifelong learner – including Photography and Montessori teaching – Yvonne is fortunate to have studied with many of the world’s best fibre art teachers. She brings these many influences together in her artworks – notably a freedom to explore no rules/all fibres/all techniques, delving within oneself as story teller, and aspiring to create more sculptural pieces in her personal practice.
